The Right Switch (2007)

Short film based on an idea I had. Originally the story had more examples of how The Switch worked. In the full story The Switch meets several people and encounter different problems...

AKA: The 2009 Animated Badi Christmas Calendar





Involving daring pilots, damsels in distress, baby-eating
monsters, ugly villagers and their nasty larva-like offspring.

THE CHARACTERS


Pilot: turn-around
Mother: turn-around
Wee Baby Boy: turn-around
Sleigh Dogs: turn-arounds
Villager: turn-around
Tall Skinny Man: turn-around


Larva: turn-around

The Goodies: mother in her bathing suit and dress. The baby cocoon-like tucked in and roaming free with nothing but a diaper. The pilot... smiling. The Baddies: the villagers and their worm/larva weird kids thingys... And the tall skinny man. His evil eyes (to the left) after he's found out about the missing baby.

Because of the 50th Anniversary of the animation festival in Annecy, the people behind the festival and Youtube have put together a competition for all people who'd like to animate a short. - and give them a chance to win a trip to the festival and getting the film shown there... In the summer of 2010 I worked on a short film a group of my friends were doing for a organization called Red Barnet (save the child). The subject of the film was children's rights.

Besides animating I worked on character design for a girl and her younger brother. First I started with some sketches:

But this design didn't work. I tried to draw more rough to search for another design...


Then I tried to push myself in all kinds of directions...

Working on a short film together with a friend of mine, Rolfie. So far I've worked on some character designs and a little teaser... and as you'll see way below also some acting. Well, well...

One Grand Day

(Working title)


This is (yet) a(nother) short I've been working on. Actually I've been thinking about doing this since 2006. Could be sweet to get it done within the next year and a half.


It is based on some of my experiences during a 4 week stay at a cattle farm in Queensland, Australia, tearing down and rebuilding a fence.
Well, it really is about the farmer and his 16 dogs.

I'm trying to move away from doing this as a short with a defined plot and more as a mood piece.

Here's the first official music video I did - as in the first video I did for other people than my brother:)

It was made very quickly and the animation is crude and extremely limited (images made in Photoshop edited in Adobe Premiere - I didn't know how to use Flash back then).

Cartoon Saloon (2008-2009)

I was very fortunate to get an internship at the animation studio Cartoon Saloon in Kilkenny, Ireland. There I worked on a teaser for their next feature film after Brendan and the Secret of Kells. I also had some shots at working on a comic book, coloring books and doing conceptual work for short films. The internship was great and the guys at the studio are just wonderful! Subsequently I was offered some work on a short film and a commercial.

I animated a couple of scenes on this teaser for the next feature film from the Saloon. Fellow animators were Fabian Erlinghauser, Sean McCarron and others. Backgrounds by Marie Thorhauge and Adrien Merigeau. Designs by Tomm Moore.

- I worked on a comic book version of the studio's first feature film, Brendan and the Secret of Kells, released in two volumes. I was on the first one.

I had the chance to animate and storyboard on this tv-series. For animation we did 7-8 seconds cleaned and colored per day.

Hope the Danish audience like the show (which is available to watch on the internet (dr.dk/panda) and on Danish television Wednesdays and Saturdays 2011 and 2012.
